Seeds are the essence of life, the beginning of something beautiful, and the symbol of hope. Planting a seed is an act of faith, a belief in the future. It requires patience, dedication, and perseverance. They remind us that growth takes time, and that even in the face of adversity, we have the power to overcome and thrive.
By growing seeds, we not only create a better future for ourselves, but for generations to come. We leave behind a legacy of growth and progress, making the world a better place. So, let us embrace the metaphor of seeds and celebrate the power of growth and transformation. Let us plant the seeds of inspiration and watch as they bloom into something extraordinary.
It is up to us to nurture dreams, water them with perseverance, and watch them grow into something beautiful.
“From a small seed, a mighty trunk may grow.” – Aeschylus

It is a part of the human condition that we must all consider the unavoidable fact of our own mortality. What difference did my life make to our friends, family, and our community. What is my legacy? Will there be any evidence that I was a contributing member of society?
The Epworth Children & Family Services Webster Groves campus was the largest bequest in the history of the organization. In 1930, our current home was given by the Dawson Family; and in 2014, a gift from Carleen Goddard-Mazur helped Epworth move forward with a Drop-In-Center for older or aged-out foster youth in Normandy.
A Naming opportunity is an outgrowth of the act of philanthropy, not the object of giving a gift. We understand one’s desire to perpetuate values and opinions and how they align with wishes to be recognized for a life-long commitment to philanthropy and volunteerism. This is a powerful statement and a testament to a family’s tradition of “giving back to the community.”
The Epworth community stands together during times of hardship, mourning, and remembrance. Whether a public or anonymous gift, we welcome the privilege of being a part of your family heritage while you become a part of ours. When you pay tribute to or honor a friend, loved one, or community member with a gift that goes directly to help a youth in crisis, we hope that you find comfort in creating a memory that can ensure that future generations take notice of their impact and existence.
