Street Outreach Services (SOS)

Street Outreach Services help youth experiencing homelessness to obtain safe, permanent housing through case management, mobile outreach, life skills education, crisis counseling, and connections to community resources.


Mobile Outreach Services distribute:
  • Food
  • Hygiene kits
  • Safer sex items
  • Educational materials
  • Assistance with accessing safe housing or shelter

 

Comprehensive Services Drop-In Center provides include:
  • Laundry and shower facilities
  • Safer sex kits and classes
  • Nutrition, clothing, and hygiene items
  • Common areas to safely hang out or sleep, play games, and watching TV
  • Computer work stations
  • Cooking instruction
  • Access to community resources such as STI and HIV testing, healthcare, legal aid, and documentation assistance
  • Resource referrals and information
  • Group sessions offering skills training, recreational activities, and support for LGBTQ youth and allies

 

The Drop-In Center has open access during weekday afternoons and some evenings. Youth ages 21 and older can access the Drop-In Center by appointment or when in crisis. Staff are available to assist with locating shelter and referrals for safe housing.

 

Case Management Services offer:
  • Crisis counseling and intervention
  • Advocacy
  • Resource referrals and connections
  • Tangible items such as clothes and food
  • Opportunities for community service
  • Support with identifying and achieving goals

 

Who do we serve?

 

To receive services, youth must be:
  • Between the ages of 11 and 20
  • Youth experiencing homelessness are eligible for services through the age of 24
