We are excited to announce the opening of our newest facility, the Carleen Goddard Mazur Building at 7520 Natural Bridge Road in Normandy, Missouri. With three stories and 15,000 square feet, the CGM Building has given our Drop-In Center room to grow. Epworth’s Street Outreach Services, Chafee Foster Care Independence Program, Aging Out and Foster Care Case Management Services all have a new home in this facility. Hours for the Drop-In Center are Monday through Thursday from 1 pm to 5:30 pm; Friday from 1 pm to 5 pm; and by appointment.
This was a year and a half long labor of love for us! The building’s transformation included new HVAC systems, windows, roof, storefront, computer lab and an elevator. The new kitchen allows the agency to serve more meals to homeless youth, hold larger cooking classes and expand food pantry services. The building also offers Epworth storage space for community donations for agency youth. Needed items include clothing, hygiene products and school supplies.
Life skills classes have received the most attention since opening. Life skills classes are available Monday-Thursday from 6 to 8 pm with the goal of teaching youth to care for themselves emotionally, physically and financially.
“Our new building gives us the opportunity to do so much more,” said Kevin Drollinger, Epworth CEO. “We now can far more effectively tailor the learning options for each young adult we serve through a state-of-the-art learning kitchen, the latest technology for communication and classwork, support for basic needs such as clean clothes and a hot meal, and ever-expanding staffing and program offerings.”
The Normandy location may be new, but clients will recognize familiar faces among the staff who continue to provide the friendly, personalized service that is a hallmark of Epworth. Come see us soon!
And mark your calendar for an Open House at the Carleen Goddard Mazur Building on Friday, September 12 from 8 to 11 am.
