Friends of Epworth
Founded in 1995, this dynamic group of volunteers is dedicated to helping the youth and families served by Epworth. The group's goals are: fundraising, volunteer service and the promotion of Epworth in the community.
Activities:
- The Friends group is also a vital element in the organization and coordination of our major fundraising special events, and they have provided volunteer leadership for the Pillar of Strength event since its initiation.
- The Adopt A Dorm program, "adopting" of two dorms on the main campus to provide monthly goodies, birthday treats, and ongoing support to the children in residential treatment.
- The Guardian Angel Fund, providing direct financial support for all the extras needed in a teen's life such as additional classes, prom clothes & summer camp.

- The Seeds of Hope Garden, The Friends of Epworth worked side by side with youth from Epworth to fill garden boxes with soil and then planted vegetables, herbs and flowers in what they hope will produce a bounty of delicious things to eat. With the help of spring rains and sunshine, the seedlings have emerged and are on their way to becoming the ingredients for a great big salad!

With over 40 members actively involved, the Friends Group usually meets the third Wednesday of each month at Epworth, with a summer break in June, July and August. For more information about the Friends of Epworth please call Friends President, Mary Gentsch at 314.995.5334.
