Independent Living Program
Summary
The Independent Living Program provides supportive services for youth, ages 17 to 21, who are ready to live in their own apartment but need additional skills, supervision, emotional support, and financial assistance to ensure success. Like the Transitional Living Program, the youth served in the Independent Living Program include those who are experiencing homelessness, as well as those who are leaving the foster care system or residential care without an adoptive family. Supports are gradually reduced as youth learn to successfully live self-sufficiently in the community. Staff utilize the Ansell-Casey program model.
